Several charges laid on suspected impaired driver following collision
Assault on a police officer amongst charges laid.
A myriad of charges have been laid against a suspected impaired driver that led to a collision.
St. Paul RCMP received a report on Monday morning at 11:00AM of a possibly impaired driver.
Police say shortly after, a report of a collision in Saddle Lake. Police arrived on scene and arrested one male.
While details are sparse, several charges have been laid against 45-year-old Cameron James Houle of Cold Lake.
Charges include:
- operate motor vehicle without holding subsisting operator’s license
- driver in accident fail to remain at or return immediately to scene
- perform or engage in stunt or activity likely to distract, startle or interfere with other users of highway
- failure or refusal to comply with demand (alcohol and drugs)
- drive carelessly
- uttering threats against a person
- assault on police officer
- theft of sport utility vehicle
- unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon or restricted weapon
Houle was held for a judicial hearing and was remanded into custody.
He is set to appear in the St. Paul Court of Justice on Thursday, Dec. 12.
