Lac La Biche RCMP recover $1 mil in stolen property; 35 year old man charged

 On Nov. 8, 2024, at approximately 5:13 a.m., Lac La Biche RCMP received a report that an individual had pointed a firearm at another individual while driving. As a result of this event, between Nov. 10 and Nov 11., 2024, a search warrant was executed on a property located in Heart Lake First Nation.

As a result of this search warrant over thirty vehicles and numerous other property were located and seized. Lac La Biche RCMP believe that the property seized is estimated to be between $750,000 and $1,00,0000 in value.

Joshua Ladouceur, a 35-year-old resident of Heart Lake First Nation, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Assault with weapon
  • Weapons possession contrary to order x2
  • Possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of firearm in motor vehicle
  • Weapons possession contrary to order
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 x5
  • Unsafe storage of firearms.

Joshua Ladouceur was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was released on a Release Order with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 16, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lac La Biche.
