It is with heartfelt love, respect and gratitude that we announce the passing of Laurent “Larry” Sylvestre, who left us November 14, 2024, at the age of 75. Larry passed away peacefully at his home in Bonnyville, Alberta, surrounded by the love of his family.

Larry was born in Bonnyville November 8, 1949, son of Jacques and Yvonne Sylvestre. A hardworking, dedicated, and resilient man, his sense of humor and love of life brought joy to everyone around him. He spent his years cultivating his passions for hockey, baseball, real estate, and his love of lake life and travel. Larry was deeply committed to his family and community, and leaves a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dianne (Croteau); his son, Greg Sylvestre, daughter-in-law Collette and grandsons Nathan and Ben; his daughter, Janelle Holthe, son-in-law Clayton and grandsons Ryley, Tyler and Jay. He is also survived by his siblings, Laurier (Joanne) Sylvestre, Eloise Lochansky, Robert (Lynda) Sylvestre, and Jacqueline (Danny) Lukinuk, brother-in-law, Darwin Hallwachs and extended family.

Larry was predeceased by his father, Jacques; mother, Yvonne; brothers, baby Paul, Paul, and Gerard; sister-in-law Pauline; brother-in-law, Walter Lochansky; and sister, Simone Hallwachs.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, November 23rd at 1:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor his remarkable legacy at the St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, 5027-49 Avenue, Bonnyville, Alberta.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Bonnyville Health Foundation.
