Six people taken into custody after Smoky Lake County break and enter
Six people were apprehended by Smoky Lake RCMP on Thursday night after interrupting a break and enter in progress.
Mounties got the call at 5:31PM to a rural property in Smoky Lake County.
The RCMP Community Response Team were already in the area, and joined the detachment in arresting six individuals.
The suspect vehicle was determined to be stolen
Search of the stolen vehicle resulted in officers seizing suspected drugs, as well as a large knife.
Gordon Breast (37), Justin Breast (35), Jamie Klymiuk (44), Clayton Halfe (51), and Autumn Sparklingeyes (21), all residents of Goodfish Lake First Nation, were all jointly charged with the following:
- Possession of Stolen Property exceeding $5,000;
- Possession of Stolen Property with a value lower then $5,000;
- Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Halfe was additionally charged with assault with a weapon.
Additionally, Gordon Breast was arrested on two outstanding arrest warrants from Edmonton Police Service.
Gordon Breast, Justin Breast, and Clayton Halfe were taken before a Justice of the Peace. Halfe was released on several conditions for a future court date.
Gordon and Justin Breast were remanded into custody to appear on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Court of Justice in Boyle.
Klymiuk and Sparklingeyes were released for court on Jan. 9, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Saskatchewan.
The sixth person was released without charges.

Smoky Lake RCMP continues to encourage the public to report suspicious activity and behaviour as well as incidents of property crime to the detachment immediately,” says Corporal Brendin Feere.
