Lakeshore Drive re-opens for one-way traffic

Signage remained up on Thursday.  

Lakeshore Drive will be opening Nov. 8 for vehicle traffic.

The road has been redesigned for one-way traffic between the Marina (Clarks General Store), heading north, around 2 Ave, and emptying onto 10 Street. New signage has been installed to help motorists navigate the change in traffic flow.

“This has been a huge undertaking,” said Mayor Craig Copeland. “Although there is still quite a bit of work to be done, it will be nice to open up the road again.”

Although the roadway is open, the sidewalk along the lake-side will remain closed while construction on those areas continue. Residents living on Lakeshore Drive will be receiving letters in the mail with more information regarding waste collection, snow removal, and other popular questions.
