Cold Lake RCMP investigation results in drug trafficking
On Nov. 6, 2024, Cold Lake RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) concluded a drug trafficking investigation within the city of Cold Lake.
With the assistance of the ALERT, Cold Lake RCMP GIS engaged in an investigation into cocaine trafficking activities in early 2024. The months long investigation ended on Nov. 6, 2024 when two males were arrested on Lakeshore Drive in Cold Lake North.
A search was conducted on a motor vehicle in relation to the arrest where 45 pre-packaged baggies of suspected cocaine were located along with Canadian currency.
Oswaldo-Jose Chanchan Osorno, a 30-year-old resident of Edmonton, has been charged with the following offences:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance
Chanchan Osorno was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released on a release order. He is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on Dec. 11, 2024.
Domingo Moneny, a 38-year-old resident of Edmonton, has been charged with the following offence:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Controlled Substance
Moneny was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released on a release order. He is scheduled to appear on Nov. 27, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake.
