WATCH: Bonnyville Friendship Centre gala raises over $50K for Food Bank
A night of socializing, beautiful outfits, and charcuterie will have a big impact on the broader community of Bonnyville.
The Bonnyville Friendship Centre’s fundraiser was “A Night at the Gatsby Gala” on Oct. 18, and the well-supported event saw $53,180.25 raised for the food bank.
“I think it was fantastic. It was a full house. Sponsorships were absolutely fabulous,” said executive director Janet Gobert.
Food bank usage is at all-time high, and with the holiday season approaching, it gets leaned on a lot to help families in need.
“We’re seeing roughly about 300 hampers per month, and it costs about 75 to $100 per hamper.”
