Almost 30 charges laid on Hamelin by Lac La Biche RCMP

On Oct. 27, 2024, at 12:52 a.m., Lac La Biche RCMP located and arrested Peter Hamelin.
Peter Hamelin, a 40-year-old resident of Lac La Biche, has been charged with the following offences:
- Failure to comply with Release Order
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x10)
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (x3)
- Theft over $5000
- Flight from peace officer
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Operate motor vehicle while prohibited x7
- Escape Lawful Custody
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous person
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited firearm
- Possession of firearm in motor vehicle
- Possession of firearm while prohibited x2
Hamelin was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear on Dec. 2, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lac La Biche.
He was the cause of a shelter-in-place in Heart Lake.
