Peter Hamelin apprehended by Lac La Biche RCMP
On Oct. 27, 2024, at 12:52 a.m., Lac La Biche RCMP received information that Peter Hamelin was leaving an address in Beaver Lake in a red Ford Ranger.
Officers were in the area on an unrelated complaint and were able to follow Hamelin until they were able to safely deploy a tire deflation device.
Shortly after, Peter Hamelin was taken into custody without incident.
He was the cause of a shelter-in-place late Thursday night in Heart Lake, and police had been searching for him for roughly two days.
Hamelin will be held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing for numerous outstanding warrants and new charges. An update will follow with charges and the results of the hearing.
