Lac La Biche RCMP remain in search of who they believe to be 39-year-old Peter Hamelin, after issuing a shelter-in-place in Heart Lake First Nation last night and early this morning.

RCMP was searching for a suspect and issued the shelter-in-place at 11:30PM last night. Hamelin fled from police and was believed to be in possession of firearms.

Despite various resources used to look for the suspect, four hours later at 3:40AM, the order was lifted, but the suspect remains loose.

It is not believed he is in the area at this time, but police issued a picture of the suspect.

RCMP ask the public to be diligent and aware and if Hamelin is seen, do not approach him and call 911.
