No injuries after vehicle fire on Highway 28 west of Bonnyville

Two people were uninjured after a frightening vehicle fire on Wednesday night just outside of Bonnyville.

Detours for motorists were put in place on Highway 28 after Bonnyville RCMP responded to a lone vehicle fire at Township Road 610.

Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority attended the scene and extinguished the fire, which authorities so far believe to be caused by a mechanical or wiring issue.

Both occupants of the truck were able to exit safely without injury and there were no other vehicles involved.

Lanes were able to re-open after an extended time as crews worked to extinguish the blaze.
