On Saturday, Aug. 24th just after 7:00AM, two young women stole a side by side off highway vehicle, owned by the RCMP, that was parked in Bonnyville.

The ladies immediately drove the OHV out of town to the south, but police were quickly alerted to the theft and immediately located them.

The suspects attempted to flee but RCMP had the ability to cut the power to the engine remotely forcing them to come to a stop.

Billie Wheaton, 25 year old, and Tiana Colins, 29 year old, were immediately arrested and taken into custody.

Wheaton who has ties to Fishing Lake & Cold Lake First Nations, and Colins who has ties to Bonnyville and Edmonton, are both charged with Theft Over $5000 and Flight from a Police Officer.

They were both released from custody during their bail hearings and are set to appear in court on September 24th.
