WATCH: Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament
The Lakeland Connect team was one of many businesses that participated in the Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce’s 1st annual Scholarship Golf Tournament.
The golf tournament had a new aspect to it this year, as it raises money for the newly launched Future Business Builders Scholarship Program.
The plan is once the money is raised that application will be open, and any employee or child of a chamber member can apply for up to $1,000 for a scholarship (bursary), if they are going into a trades program.
Participants were treated to lunch, a steak dinner, hole prizes, provided by a variety of sponsors.
Upcoming political event
An exclusive members-only event is slated for September 5 that will have a rare opporunity to see three levels of government represented all in one place.
The Your Region, Your Voice will see a panel including two MPs, Shannon Stubbs (Lakeland) and Laila Goodridge (Fort McMurray-Cold Lake), MLA Scott Cyr (Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul), and three Mayors and Reeves, Craig Copeland (Cold Lake), Elisa Brosseau (Bonnyville), and Barry Kalinski (M.D. of Bonnyville).
This is meant for open discussion and dialogue about ways to shape the future of the area.
Tickets are $150 for the night, hosted at the Cold Lake Energy Centre (Reid Field House), and includes dinner. More information can be found here.
