There will be a new church built in Cherry Grove.
After last year’s string of devastating arsons took the Church of Latter-day Saints building, there are construction efforts that are soon to begin on a new church.
A groundbreaking is scheduled for Saturday, August 10 at 5020 – 50th Street, with a light luncheon to follow.
This new meeting house will be a redevelopment of the building taken by arson.
Efforts have been made so a string of arsons could be fought more easily in Cherry Grove, with a new fire hall in the works.
The fire on April 27, 2023, made the church a total loss, and a second fire at the Post Office threatened to burn that building down.
