The Cold Lake Air Show has ALL the activities!
It’s one of the biggest air shows in all of Canada, and the countdown clock continues to tick.
The 2024 Cold Lake Air Show features the aerial excitement of F-35A Lightning II in operation in the US, the SkyHawks (The Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team), the Snowbirds Demonstration Team, and CH-148 Cyclone helicopter, amongst others in the two day exhibition July 20-21.
But that is just one aspect of the weekend, with much to look at on the ground, and much to listen to.
Of course, Friday, July 19 is the kick-off party downtown Cold Lake with the Full Throttle Festival with the musical lineup headlined by Blackjack Billy, and preceded by Shantaia, Cold Brew (winner of the Woofstock Battle of the Bands), and the 4 Wing Band.
Family activities from 4:00PM-8:00PM include face painting, bouncy castles, a jester, arcade, and a caricature artist; the adults can also enjoy the beer gardens that will be on-site. A similar type of Kids Zone will set-up for each day of the Air Show.
Added this year is a follow-up show on Saturday night in Bonnyville called the After-Burner. Canadian music veteran Sass Jordan headlines the free show at the Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre.
On the ground Saturday and Sunday are static displays of planes and classic cars.

The Cold Lake Cruisers are once again getting involved in the festivities with their Classic Car Show.
This year’s theme will be the 60th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang and Pontiac GTO with the feature display of Shelby, but a variety of automotive history is welcomed to be included at the show.
These artifacts span decades and are sure to include both the beautiful and unique.
The “Shelby”, known for its collaboration between Ford and racing legend Carroll Shelby, is a high-performance of the Mustang, with its classic era between 1965-1970.
And when you get hungry and thirsty, there is a variety of scrumptious options to explore.
Over two dozen food trucks will be on-site, with Sip ‘N’ Soar stations with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options, plus two satellite stations for your convenience as you walk the fully licensed grounds, with that drink in hand.
There is no cost to park as you head toward the main gate of 4 Wing, but residents in the North are advised to head to the back gate. VIP ticket holders have different parking.
Admission gates are only open from 9:00AM to 2:00PM.
The Air demonstration starts at 12:00PM and the show will roll rain or shine.
VIP ticket packages are sold out, but other ticket options remain.
