M.D. buys shop near Airport, to move some staff in fall
The M.D. of Bonnyville is soon to take possession of a building at the Regional Airport.
In a press release on Thursday, the M.D. says the acquisition of the shop near the corner of Highway 41 and 660 will provide a space for airport maintenance equipment.
The M.D. says the purchase came under its $1.3 million budget.
“The move will increase the efficiency of airport maintenance, with the equipment being stored onsite rather than at a secondary location,” the release says.
“The building will also become home to the M.D.’s Agricultural Services and Waste Services departments as of September 1, 2024. This includes the Ag Services Equipment Rental Program. Moving this program to the new shop will allow for safer and easier access for residents picking up rental equipment. The larger space means there will be more room to manoeuvre the equipment, while reducing the amount of traffic currently being encountered in the Public Works yard.”
The M.D. took full possession of the airport in 2020.
