Canada Day Opening Ceremonies in Cold Lake.

There was a ton of activities to enjoy across the Lakeland on Monday for Canada Day celebrations with Lakeland Connect providing coverage of parades and activities in Bonnyville, Cold Lake, St. Paul, and Elk Point.

Here’s a recap of the action from our video archives.

Cold Lake

Cold Lake’s parade in front of Kinosoo Beach got off to a great start to the day with comfortable temperatures. Here’s the parade, Oh Canada, and a brief bit of the CF-18 flyover.

Elk Point

Shortly afterward at around 10:30am, Elk Point’s annual parade kicked off. They celebrated a bit early with some of their festivities, doing fireworks on Sunday night.

St. Paul

Activities began at noon in St. Paul at the Recreation Centre which kept families engaged. Heaven visited and did a TikTok.

Bonnyville

The Town’s parade kicked off a little after 3:00PM with a long lineup of community groups and businesses putting in floats and their work trucks. With some of the gaps in the parade, it took almost 40 minutes for a spectator to see everything in store.

Husband Chad along with Jeff from Dynamo Small Engine (Your Husqvarna Dealer in the Lakeland) drove Chad’s golf cart in the parade.

Honeymoon Suite

Michael Menzies was able to connect with Derry Grehan and Johnny Dee from Honeymoon Suite before their big show at Party in the Park
