Use St. Paul RCMP detachment as a safe exchange area
With the prominence of buy and sell pages online, the St. Paul RCMP are offering a place to make these transactions.
Eastern Alberta RCMP detachments will have designated zones or parking stalls where residents can feel safer to exchange goods.
There are also many other interactions where the public may have concerns about their safety such as child custody, and document exchanges.
“These safe exchange zones will provide a safer place for citizens to safely meet while making sales, purchases and exchanges including custody and visitation arrangements,” says Sgt. Bobby Burgess of the St. Paul RCMP Detachment.
The safe exchange zone is not specifically monitored by the detachment or surveillance cameras, however, detachment officers are available to assist should there be a call for assistance. Any criminal activity is subject to enforcement action.
You don’t need to contact the detachment to make the transaction there.
Reports of violence or armed threats across Canada during these interactions have been increasing.
