Bonnyville’s new branding to roll out July 1
Out with the old, in with the new. Mayor Elisa Brosseau says the Town will have new branding to be rolled out soon.
The Bonnyville Mayor confirmed that process, which lasted almost a year and a half, will be shared soon, after being passed during Tuesday’s council meeting.
“This has been a big priority of this council to do a rebranding project,” said Mayor Elisa Brosseau on The Morning After.
“We’re not rolling it out just yet. It’s going to come out in five phases over the next couple of months. And I’m really excited to share with the community and the residents and see what their input is.”
After consultations first beginning in January 2023, the Town has worked with marketing teams to give the Bonnyville logo, as well as community tagline an update — its first since 1992.
Council authorized a budget spend of up to $25,000 for promotional materials in the lead-up to Canada Day, which seems to be the time items with the new imagery will be seen.
“We want to be able to give out swag, we want to have t-shirts. We really want to pump it up with a launch date of July 1,” said Brosseau.
The process has not been seamless, however.
Frustration was voiced during October 2023 council meetings about whether to pursue a wordmark logo or an image-based one. With $75,000 already spent, but an eye on wanting to get it right, the Town then added up to $30,000 in budget to get the branding passed the finish line.
The idea is for this branding to last for the next 30-40 years.
The current Bonnyville slogan is, “It’s multi-natural.”
