WATCH: BRFA hosts annual EMS Open House during Paramedic Services Week
Bonnyville residents were invited to the Ambulance Hall on Wednesday evening.
Whether it was enjoying a free barbeque, kids getting a tour of an ambulance, or visiting the Teddy Bear Clinic, it’s an annual event that the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority holds.
This week is Paramedic Services Week with the theme: Help us help you.
“It shows the kids that we aren’t here to hurt them, we’re help to them,” said Ken Hesson, Division Chief of EMS.
“When we come into your home, one of the thing’s that you can do to help us, is have your history ready. Have your medication lists ready. Stuff like that. The more information you can give us and some of your history, the better it is for us, and the better we can help you.”
It’s anticipated this will be the last open house at the current location beside the Bonnyville hospital.
The move to the new home for all ambulance dispatch, as well as BRFA Station 1, Station 5, and 9-1-1 communications will all move to the new building, just outside of Town limits to the west.
