Warrant issued after man skips court on drug and weapon charge

A warrant has been issued for a Clandonald man after he didn’t show up for court, stemming from an incident after being found passed out behind the wheel, and in possession of a prohibited weapon and fentanyl.

Vermilion RCMP recently relayed information from a March 14 incident. It was mid-afternoon when police were called to a vehicle in the ditch off Highway 631 in Two Hills County.

Members attended and located a male occupant passed out behind the wheel of the vehicle. An impaired driving investigation was initiated.

As a result of the investigation, Ryan James Brodbin, 30, a resident of Clandonald, was charged with:

  • Possession of a prohibited weapon;
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • Possession of suspected fentanyl; and
  • Provincial sanctions for impaired operation of a conveyance.

Brodbin failed to appear for his scheduled court appearance on May 6, 2024, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
