Drug trafficking charges laid in EADCRU search warrant

One man has been arrested following a massive seizure of 300 grams of cocaine and 80 grams of meth.

A search warrant was executed in the rural Saddle Lake area by the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (EADCRU), assisted by the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team. It stemmed from an ongoing investigation from St. Paul and Saddle Lake RCMP on Saturday, May 4. 

As a result of this search warrant, the following items were seized:

  • 300g suspected cocaine;
  • 80g of suspected methamphetamine;
  • Prescription medications;
  • $8000 cash;
  • Cash counter;
  • Scales; and
  • Tannerite explosives.

As a result of the investigation, Tyson Willard Hunter, 51, a resident of St. Paul, was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x3);
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
  • Possess Weapon Contrary to Order (x2); and
  • Fail to comply with release order (x3).

Hunter was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear on May 23, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Paul.
