[Michael]: We’re live outside the Cold Lake Energy Center. It’s the Thermal cup with the B final. About to get going in about 15 minutes time in the A final at 7:30. Michael Menzies joining alongside Crystal. Great to see you once again here. And, uh, we’ve been doing the announcing for this great event. Of course, we’re live thanks to our community partners in extremely leftfield Lakeland Co-Op, Bluewave Energy and Coauette & SOns Implements. But, uh, the Thermal Cup, it’s been a real treat.

[Crystal]: It’s been awesome. It’s nice to see all four well servicing companies in town. This event has grown. We have Stratco resources, CNRL, Imperial Oil, as well as, uh, Cenovus Energy, and they’re all coming together to raise money for kid sport.

[Michael]: Yeah, no doubt. It’s been great that 50/50 continues to climb, uh, a lot of buy-in from, uh, you know, partners in the area and just to see, you know, the four big oil companies, you know, have some fun. But also we’re starting to see the rivalries, I think, really, uh, grow.

[Crystal]: Absolutely. And we’re, we’re onto the B and A final guys. Get down here if you can. There’s, um, a shoot to score coming up. There’s a chucka puck, there’s a silent auction. Your $20 ticket gets you a meal and it gets you entertainment and it gets you some really exciting hockey between these oil companies.

[Michael]: That’s right. We’re gonna have Clayton Bellamy performing up in the lounge after all the hockey action, uh, gets wrapped up here, but terrific stuff. Kids sport, uh, they are the beneficiaries of the 50/50 and they’re coming out in droves, and it’s been a real good crowd here that’s getting more and more vocal as the action goes along.

[Crystal]: Absolutely. That last game, I, you know, it was a one-goal game, and I’ll tell you like, I felt like I was in a provincial final.

[Michael]: Yeah, yeah. The but usually in men talking, that happens.

[Crystal]: Yeah, exactly.

[Michael]: Exactly. So what ended up, uh, transpiring here, each team has played two games. And so Strat Kona Resources, they have the, uh, they’re in pole position, I guess is the word. They’re two and oh, they’re in the afin. They’re gonna play Canadian Natural. That game’s happening at 7:30 and Imperial, I think, uh, coming Oh, so close. It was just a one, nothing loss to Strathcona, but that loss due to multiple Tiebreakers means they’ll play Cenovus in the B final.

[Crystal]: And you know what, folks like the, there’s a silent auction here that is like second to none with Yeti coolers, smokers, um, packages for golf clubs go, uh, like I can’t even tell you. And, and there’s lots of time to come down and put your bid in, get your $20 ticket and help kid sport in our area.

[Michael]: That’s right. Big, uh, big supporters are these four L companies here with the kid sport across the province and in the northeast especially. They’re gonna get, uh, big benefits here of being involved. So a whole lot more to come here at the thermal cup at the Cold Lake Energy Center. We are live in the community thanks to Extreme Oil Field Blue Wave Energy, Lakeland Co-op, and Cowe and Suns implements. That’s Crystal and Michael, come and join us tonight for the thermal cup. And now you’ve been connected.
