A 24-year-old St. Paul man is facing charges after he was found intoxicated with a knife near schools.

The incident happened around 3:30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

Reports came to the St. Paul RCMP detachment that an intoxicated man was walking into traffic and taunting motorists with a knife. This happened near Racette School on Main Street.

Police found the man and arrested him on 45th Street, along the east side of the St. Paul Elementary School playground.

RCMP cannot release particulars yet because the information is not sworn.

He was taken to the detachment where is currently awaiting Judicial Interim Release hearing. He will be charged, police say, with several weapons offences.
