Roughly 630 grams of meth seized in Cold Lake

A drug trafficking charge has been handed to a Cold Lake man.

RCMP attended a local hotel and located approximately 630 grams of suspected methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, Cold Lake resident Brandon Hunter, 38, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Hunter had also been arrested and charged on March 15, 2024, in relation to a separate drug trafficking investigation where approximately 283 grams of suspected cocaine and 63 grams of suspected methamphetamine were seized.

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Brandon was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on May 8.
