Vermilion RCMP respond to 43 property crimes in March

During the month of March 2024, Vermilion RCMP responded to 241 calls for service. 

Of those, 83 were related to traffic/vehicle complaints, 43 were related to property crime, 16 were traffic collisions, 13 were suspicious persons or vehicles, and 11 were persons crimes. 

Property crime breakdown:

  • 13 thefts,
  • 12 break and enters,
  • 5 vehicle thefts 
  • 2 frauds

In addition, 10 calls were related to spousal abuse and seven were related to persons involving mental health concerns.

During this period, Vermilion RCMP laid 51 charges, including 26 criminal code, 24 provincial offences, and one controlled drugs and substances offence.

Eleven of the criminal charges were related to property crime, nine were related to failing to comply with conditions/court, four were related to firearms/weapons, and three were related to persons crimes.

Business hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday excluding stat holidays. If it is an emergency, you can also call 911. Non-emergent crimes can be reported via Online Crime Reporting and the Alberta RCMP App which is available through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
