BREAKING: Manhunt for abduction suspect ongoing by St. Paul RCMP

RCMP continues to search for Saddle Lake man Conrad Cardinal. Cardinal is wanted in connected to an abduction that occurred late Sunday evening.

On Apr. 7, 2024, at 10:00 p.m., St. Paul RCMP received a report of a break & enter and assault at a residence on Saddle Lake. Upon arrival, RCMP located signs that a couple was assaulted. One of the victims, 49-year-old Corinne Steinhauer was taken against her will and is missing. Corinne is believed to be held against her will on a stolen school bus taken from the complainant’s residence. Although the investigation is still ongoing, RCMP believes that Corinne was forcefully taken from the residence by 37-year-old Saddle Lake resident Conrad Cardinal.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been dispatched to the community to assist with the investigation.

Conrad Cardinal is considered violent and dangerous.

 

Conrad Cardinal is currently wanted for multiple criminal code offenses and is considered violent and dangerous.

RCMP report that 49-year-old Corinne Steinhauer has been located safe.

RCMP continue search for the suspect Conrad Cardinal who is described as:

  • Male
  • Slender complexion
  • Black Hair
  • Brown Eyes
  • 5 fee 7 inches tall
  • 150 pounds

Conrad Cardinal is considered violent and dangerous.

RCMP report that the school has been found abandoned.

49-year-old Corinne Steinhauer, while increased patrols are in place in hopes of apprehending Conrad Cardinal.

On Apr. 7, 2024, at 10:00 p.m., St. Paul RCMP received a report of a break enter and assault at a residence on Saddle Lake.

Upon arrival, RCMP located signs that a couple was assaulted.

One of the victims, 49-year-old Corinne Steinhauer was taken against her will and is missing.

She is believed to be held against her will on a stolen school bus taken from the complainants residence.

Although the investigation is still ongoing, RCMP believe that Corinne was forcefully taken from the residence by 37-year-old Saddle Lake resident Conrad Cardinal.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been dispatched to the community to assist with the investigation.

RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Corinne Steinhauer who is described as:

  • Female
  • Medium complexion
  • Brown Hair
  • Brown Eyes
  • 5 feet 5 inches tall
  • 143 pounds

Additionally, RCMP are attempting to locate the suspect, Conrad Cardinal, who is described as:

  • Male
    Slender complexion
    Black Hair
    Brown Eyes
    5 fee 7 inches tall
    150 pounds

Both Steinhauer and Cardinal have ties in Eastern Alberta, Saddle Lake and St. Paul.

Cardinal was last seen fleeing the residence with Corinne in a 2018 Yellow full-size school bus. Alberta License plate BXM4528. The bus has identifying decals:

  • Bus #25,
  • Saddle Lake Education Authority, written on the side

If Conrad Cardinal or the School bus are seen do not approach call 911 immediately.
