Casual Labourer II – Seasonal 

Roads & Environment Team Employee #7623

Hours: 

Monday – Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm 

Qualifications: 

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing. (GDL may be considered) 

18 years of age or older. 

High school Diploma or equivalent 

Physically capable of manual labour including standing and lifting – up to 50 lbs.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Perform manual labour such as grass cutting, painting, boulevard restoration, line painting, hole digging, and cleaning  of equipment.  

Operate pick-up trucks including towing a trailer (trailering experience considered an asset), line painters, assist in  pothole filling, and crack filling. 

Flagging as necessary (training provided)  

Assist with various maintenance: 

-moving/ placing barricades, moving/ fixing picnic tables, emptying garbage cans. 

– removing trees brush, trees as required.  

Perform tree pruning, tree planting, Town beautification and other related duties.  

Support and assist in Town Programs and events (barricades, setup, dismantle etc. as required.) Every employee shall complete and apply designated training and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety  Legislation.  

Overtime work on some weekends maybe required. 

Performs other related duties as required. 

This position is from May 2024 to September 2024 (Start and end dates will be finalized closer too as determined by  environmental factors)

Types of Physical Exertion: 

Working outside in in varying weather conditions  including dust and heat.  

Lifting weights exceeding 10 kg and up to an  approximate maximum of 20 kg. 

Walking on uneven surfaces, using a ladder. Stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
