Strut Your Mutt to assist Lakeland Humane Society

It’s time to take those dogs for a walk.

Community Social Work students have teamed up with the Lakeland Humane Society, to try and help provide some needed items for the cause, as well as raising money for the work they do.

The event, called Strut Your Mutt, is happening on Saturday.

Registration is happening at 11:00am at the Energy Centre, along the Millenium Trail, and participants will go for a collective dog walk to the Sobey’s parking lot.

That’s where a BBQ will happen.

Door prizes for the best dressed mutts as well as a raffle are included in the day’s festivities.

Local social work students as part of their community development course are teaming up with community partners to help make a difference.

Other students are doing a clothing drive to support the unhoused population.

In order to participate, donations for the Society are anticipated, whether its some of the items they need or monetary. The same applies for the barbeque.
