Five Pontiacs finalists for AJHL awards

On Wednesday, the AJHL announced the finalists for each league award, with five Pontiacs nominated in six categories.

• Rookie of the Year – Dante Siciliano
• D-Man of the Year – JR Ashmead
• Goaltender of the Year – Bodee Weiss
• Most Dedicated Player – Nicolas Beaudoin
• League MVP – Luka Sukovic
• Top Forward – Luka Sukovic

There are legitimate opportunities for the Pontiacs to win hardware. Luka Sukovic is tied with Bonnyville native Caden Cabana for 1st in the league in points with each team having two games to go.

The winners of the following League Awards and Scholarships will also be announced at the completion of the regular season and throughout the 2024 Inter Pipeline AJHL Playoffs.

• Regular Season Champion – Dave Duchak Trophy
• Scoring Champion – Ernie Love Trophy
• Top Goal Scorer
• Top Team Goaltenders – CCM Top Team Goaltenders Award
• Viterra Star of the Game Standings Leader – Viterra Cup
• AJHL Executive of the Year – Ken Bracko Award
• Viterra Salute to Service Volunteer Award
• Inter Pipeline AJHL Scholarship
• RBC Community Ambassador Scholarship
