In Loving Memory: Reverend Father Martin O’Riordan – Memento Funeral Chapel

On Monday, February 19, 2024 Reverend Father Martin Anthony O’Riordan “Father Tony” passed away peacefully at the J. P. Decoss Long Term Care Center, in St. Paul, Alberta at the age of 89 years.

Born in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland in 1934, Father Tony was ordained a priest on June 28, 1991 to serve the Church in the Diocese of St. Paul; at the parishes of Ft. McMurray; Prosperity, Buffalo Lake, Boyle; Egremont; Thorhild; Clyde; Radway. Father Tony was also Confessor to the Missionaries of Charity in St. Paul for ten years.  After that he lived and ministered at Ephphatha House, west of Edmonton for five very fruitful years.

Father Tony leaves to mourn his three sisters: Margaret Power, Brenda Byrne, Kay Kirivan and all his former parishioners & brother priests.

Father Tony was predeceased by his parents: Martin & Catherine O’Riordan; three brothers: Frank, Sean & Dermot O’Riordan.

Prayer Vigil, Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul Cathedral with Most Reverend Bishop Gary Franken, Bishop of St. Paul officiating.

Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul, Alberta with Most Reverend Bishop Gary Franken as main celebrant. Memorial tributes in memory of Father O’Riordan may be given towards masses for the repose of his soul.
