The holidays can be a sombre time for some families, as they remember loved ones who they can no longer share Christmas with.
However, the Tree of Hope celebrates those family members who aren’t with us anymore, by the spirit of donation towards local palliative care.
Last Friday, Tellier Guardian Pharmacy along with the Bonnyville Health Foundation announced a total of $5,150 raised.
In year’s past, the tree was always figurative.
That’s when Tellier’s stepped up and created a real tree and gathered the donations, in order to hand a total amount at the end of the fundraiser.
“We love our community,” said Tanis Bremer at Tellier.
” We just thought it would be a nice touch to see the tree, be able to put that ornament on the tree in memory of your loved one. It’s that special touch. It was exciting for us to see the balls going up, and to see that tree getting full. ”
