Jessie Lake soon to be lit

Night time walking will soon be made easier for Bonnyville residents.

The Town is in the midst of installing lights around portions of the Jessie Lake Trail.

In 2022, town council agreed to award a shade over $230,000 to the Jessie Lake Trail Lighting project for one portion of the work, which came in under their allocated budget of $261,250. 

Phase 2 and 3 is now getting done here, with roughly $800,000 in spend.

The goal is to encourage recreation and wellness.

Signs are also up now around the Trail with suggestions of walk breaks for various exercises, put in by the Bonnyville Wellness Coalition.

Hopes are the lights will be finished installing in the next couple of weeks.
