On January 20, 2024, Mr. Raymond “John” Brertton (Okimiaweeno) of Saddle Lake passed away at the age of 77 years.  He is survived by his common-law spouse, Val Faithful; daughter, Sharon Brertton; son, Prosper Faithful; adopted children, Carolyn Steinhauer, Raymond Quinney & Thomas Quinney; special grandchildren, CJ & Lyle Brertton, Ross, Colton & Dawson Steinhauer; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 3 brothers, Brian Large, Mike Whitford & Victor Houle; sister, Gloria Moosewah; auntie, Florence Large; niece, Matilda Brertton; numerous nieces, nephews, aunties & uncles.  Raymond was predeceased by his parents, William & Matilda Brertton; children, Steven & Tina Steinhauer; common-law spouse, Rosile Steinhauer; siblings, Rita (Austin) Quinney, Bertha Steinhauer (Roland), Lindsay Brertton, Emile Brertton, Tony Brertton & Bella Favel.  A Wake will be held on Thursday (leaving Grace Gardens at 2:00 p.m.) & Friday, January 25 & 26 at Onchaminahos School Gym, Saddle Lake.  A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Onchaminahos School Gym, Saddle Lake.  Pastor Mavis Giant will be officiating, with interment in United Church Cemetery, Saddle Lake.  To send condolences online, please visit www.gracegardensfuneralchapel.com.
