Man arrested after two women believed to be held against their will: Kitscoty RCMP

A forcible confinement charge and eleven charges of unsafe storage of firearms have been laid by Kitscoty RCMP, after fears two women were being held against their will.

The incident happened at 1:40am on Monday, January 15.

Kitscoty RCMP responded to a disturbance call on Range Road 12, just outside of Lloydminster. When police arrived, one male suspect was identified, with their initial investigation, they say, revealing that the suspect had used a weapon to hold two females against their will.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence. As a result of the warrant, multiples items were seized, including:

  • Rifles;
  • Handguns;
  • Prohibited weapons and devices;
  • Ammunition; and
  • Drugs.

As a result of the investigation, Lloydminster resident Dustin Lee Fialkowski (36) has been charged with the following:

  • Forcible Confinement;
  • Pointing a Firearm;
  • Using a firearm in the commission of an offence;
  • Uttering Threats;
  • Assault with a weapon;
  • Possession of a Prohibited weapon (x2);
  • Possession of Prohibited Device (x2);
  • Unsafe storage of firearms (x11); 
  • Possession of body armor while unauthorized.

Fialkowski was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster on Feb. 6, 2024.
