COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS for the Town of Bonnyville for the week of January 15, 2024

VISION ACTION PLAN

Council approved the 2024-2027 Vision Action Plan. The plan was developed as a tool to be utilized by the Administration to turn the Council’s priorities into actions and programs. This is revisited annually and updated annually to reflect on completed items, changes in priorities, and evolving Strategic direction.

LETTERS OF SUPPORT

The Town will be sending a Letter of Support for the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce’s grant proposal to the Minister of Municipal Affairs, which, if successful, would see the establishment of a grant aimed at providing financial assistance to rural Alberta businesses affected by rising crime rates. The Council passed a motion to send a Letter of Support to MLA Scott Cyr for improved provincial damage prevention legislation for underground utilities, as requested by Utility Safety Partners. The Town of Bonnyville has been a registered member of Utility Safety Partners for well over a decade. The nonprofit group coordinates and streamlines all the underground line location requests in Town that Public Works responds to.
