Drug trafficking charges laid after cocaine seized in Cold Lake

A 21-year-old Cold Lake man is facing drug trafficking charges.

On Jan. 5, 2024, Cold Lake RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) completed a months long drug trafficking investigation within the City of Cold Lake. As part of the investigation, several quantities of cocaine were seized. A search warrant was executed on a residence in Cold Lake North where drug paraphernalia consistent with trafficking and a firearm was located.

As a result of the investigation, Jordan Chief, 21, a resident of Cold Lake, has been charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance; Cocaine X3;
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order;
  • Failing to Comply with conditions of a Release Order;

Chief was remanded into custody by a Justice of the Peace and will be appearing in the Alberta Court of Justice on Jan. 10, 2024, in Cold Lake.
