Pop-up shop opens for freedom of choice supporters for Xmas season

A pop up store dedicated to showcasing artisans, creators and makers from across Canada that value freedom of choice, is opening for two weeks in Leduc, Alberta.

The pop up retail store will be open for in person and online shopping from December 2-17, 2023 or until items sell out.

The Sovereign Shop is a place for people to vote with their dollars and support entrepreneurs who are awake or waking up to the corruption that takes place with certain Government policies. The vendors range from people that lost jobs due to mandates, to people who spoke out publicly, to people just getting the courage to be seen for what they truly believe.

The store will feature vendors like Nick Motycka founder of Flow State Designs. He started his hemp clothing company after a 17 year career in law enforcement began to crumble in 2022.

“It [Flow State Designs] gave me something positive to focus on and gave me a sense of purpose while dealing with mental health challenges…My business gave me the courage to step away from a career that was no longer in alignment. Even though it did not make sense from the outside, it was what felt good to me,” said Motycka.

Other vendors started their businesses to help pay increased expenses. Samantha Waddle started Earthy Glow, a bath and body company in early 2022.

“We were nearing bankruptcy in 2021, due to being forced to pay for tests two times a week because I wouldn’t comply with the vaccine mandates. The idea that I could bring in some income with a side hustle appealed to me. I needed to have something I could fall back on to help support my family,” said Waddle.

The Sovereign Shop is not just a storefront, it is a community movement. It is a place to bring like-hearted business together connecting vendors to strengthen their bonds so people do not feel alone. The shop also makes it clear to the public who to support that are in alignment with their values.

The shop features over 40 Canadian artisans from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. Some of the categories featured at this years pop-up shop include:

  • Bath & body
  • Household items
  • Men & women’s clothing
  • Art & decor

Over the last three years Canadian businesses that questioned mainstream narratives have suffered immensely due to censorship. Many people’s voices were silenced. It has been hard for people to make sound decisions when they are not given different sides and perspectives.
