Armed robbery charges in laid at Cold Lake convenience store stick-up
A Cold Lake man is facing armed robbery charges after an incident earlier this week.
On Thursday, Nov. 30, at 2:06 a.m., Cold Lake RCMP responded to an armed robbery at a business on 8 Avenue in Cold Lake.
A male had entered the convenience store and demanded cigarettes after producing a firearm and collapsible baton.
The male then fled the store with two cartons of cigarettes and was observed getting into a vehicle that left northbound on 8 Avenue.
Cold Lake RCMP reviewed the stores CCTV footage and were able to identify the male.
As a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Cold Lake resident, Samuel Logan Willier was charged with:
- Robbery with a firearm
- Uttering threats
- Failure to comply with a release order
Willier was remanded in custody with his next court date set for Dec. 4, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake.
