Stolen truck found at property, drugs found in arrest

A man has been arrested with drugs on him after police were investigating stolen vehicles.

Police in Saddle Lake were looking for a wanted man on Monday, when they found a stolen vehicle in the yard of the residence on the nation.

While waiting on the tow truck to recover the vehicle, the member on scene observed two males walk out of the brushes, St. Paul RCMP said in a release on Tuesday.

One of the males tried obstructing police for arresting the other.

Police said the male refused to comply and was seen discarding what appeared to be drugs from his pockets. Those items were later recovered by the arresting member along with Canadian currency.

The male was arrested a short time later after beginning to comply.

Anthony Houle, 57, of Saddle Lake, has been charged with five offences, including two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance, and resisting a peace officer.

He was released on $2000 promise to pay after a judicial interim release hearing. A court date is set for October 19.
