Thieves steal $100K worth of live-saving equipment from Vilna Fire Department

The Vilna Fire Department has suffered from a major theft, having life-saving equipment stolen last weekend.

Smoky Lake RCMP are investigating the break and enter which happened on Saturday, August 26.

Culprits allegedly broke into the building and stole an AFRACS radio and the jaws of life, including the pump.

Police say the total value of the equipment stolen is $100,000.

This crime is being investigated by the Smoky Lake RCMP along with the assistance with the Eastern Alberta District RCMP Forensic Unit.
