Two busted in St. Paul after break and enter in progress
While autumn is around the corner, two thieves were trying to get a headstart by taking leaf blowers from a St. Paul business.
RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress at around 2:20am last Tuesday at Kotowich Chimney and Installations where two backpack leaf blowers were stolen.
Later that morning, RCMP were advised a male was seen walking with one of the items on his back in the east end of town.
Police responded and located a male in possession of the stolen property.
Continued investigation confirmed the identify of the two individuals observed on CCTV committing the break and enter. Both have been charged, however, the investigation is still ongoing.
Phillip Littlechild, 33, of Saddle Lake has been charged with Break and Enter and Mischief under $5000. At the time of the offence he was wanted on numerous outstanding warrants from Edmonton and St Paul and was remanded into custody until Wednesday, Aug. 23 after a Judicial Interim Release Hearing.
Shawn Morin, 21, of Red Deer, Alberta has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property under $5000. He was released on an undertaking for court on October 12th, 2023.
St. Paul RCMP want to remind citizens to report all crimes and suspicious persons.
Information gained from complaints received from the public often result in links to additional files and the RCMP solving these crimes, the detachment says.
“The information received from the general public is extremely valuable and can directly result in identify suspects of linking crimes to an individual. The public being our eyes and ears is a pivotal part of the community policing model.”
