Cold Lake Fighter Jets off to playoffs after 32-3 win
The Cold Lake Fighter Jets look poised to take first place in the Alberta Football League and will return to the playoffs.
Saturday night was a 32-3 win for the Fighter Jets at the Thomas Varughese Field. During warm-up Fighter Jet player Derek Kastro said they were geared up and ready to go.
“We gotta be calm, composed, and to be hungry. We already know we’re hungry, we already know we want it,” said Kastro.
Even though the Fighter Jets were coming off of a loss, the first loss in two years., they made sure they were steady and in a winning headspace.
“There’s a reason we’re 15 and 0 at home,” said Kameron Puckrin-Dancey.
The Jets started off slow, at halftime the score was 6-3 but they quickly advanced. Keeping their defence strong till the buzzer sounded at the end of the game.
During the off-season, the Jets ensured good chemistry between the players, and it definitely showed throughout the game.
“We’re playing together and we’re family so we make it work and make it happen,” said Christian Joachim.
The Fighter Jets are now off the playoffs, and they said they are going with nothing holding them back from a win.
“We won’t hold back, we’re going for the back-to-back win nothing less,” said Derek Kastro.
