Cold Lake is one of several Canadian cities that will have a jet flyby tomorrow on Canada Day.

These will be carried out by Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft throughout Canada at various times throughout the day.

  • Alberta – Cold Lake (two CT-155 Hawks); Edmonton (CH-146 Griffon); Sherwood Park (two CT-155 Hawks); Spruce Grove (two CT-155 Hawks); and Stony Plain (two CT-155 Hawks).
  • British Columbia – Courtenay (CC-130H Hercules and CH-149 Cormorant); Richmond (CP-140 Aurora); Qualicum Beach (CP-140 Aurora); and Sechelt (CP-140 Aurora).
  • Ontario – Belleville (CH-146 Griffon) and Ottawa (two CF-18 Hornets).
  • Nova Scotia – Westville (CH-148 Cyclone).

During the flybys, the aircraft will fly at a minimum altitude of 500 feet above the highest obstacle along their flight path. Flybys conducted by Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled for public safety and are dependent upon weather and flying conditions.
