Come Let’s Sew’s development permits coming to council on July 11

The municipal planning commission will have a decision in July on a Bonnyville business that needs development permits and has caught a lot of attention on social media in recent days.

Come Let’s Sew is a home-based business on 42nd Avenue in Bonnyville. On Saturday, the owner Ademine Graham posted on social media that she was having to re-locate to Cold Lake for her upcoming summer camps.

The reason being that a complaint was lodged, and Graham said online that when the Town reviewed her permits they found, “an administrative error and cancelled my license.”

She did not wish to comment on it further, saying she didn’t expect so much attention online and was encouraged by how much support she received.

The issue seems to be with lapsed or expired permits.

CAO Bill Rogers told Lakeland Connect that he didn’t want to comment on what was happening on social media, but that they have not revoked her business license.

I can tell you that Come Let’s Sew has applied for development permits and staff are working with her on them and they’re coming for council for decision in July.”

The next council meeting, where this will come to the municipal planning commission, is scheduled for July 11.
