Brian Jean named Minister of Energy and Minerals

Brian Jean will have a cabinet position in this UCP government, Scott Cyr will not.

The Government of Alberta announced its cabinet positions on Friday. Lac La Biche-Fort McMurray MLA Brian Jean will be the Minister of Energy and Minerals.

Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul MLA Scott Cyr did not receive a position in cabinet, Treasury Board, or in Caucus Leadership.

Jean also has a seat on the Treasury Board.

Garth Rowswell, MLA of Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright, will chair the Alberta First committee.

Cabinet members were sworn in on the morning of June 9 and will begin receiving briefings from their departments.
