BRFA fight structure fire at Duclos Arms

The fire at Duclas Arms has been extinguished. Due to the damage, the building, which was the original Duclos Hospital has been demolished.

BACKGROUND

Station 5 Bonnyville responded at 0330hrs to a structure fire at 4801-66st (Duclos Arms) in Bonnyville. Crews arrived to find an active fire in the north side of the building. Station 7 Fort Kent and Station 8 Ardmore responded at 0430hrs to support firefighting operations.
Witnesses state that there were people in the area of the building prior to the fire, and it is being considered suspicious at this time.

Crews are still on scene fighting the fire defensively and the public is asked to stay out of the area to avoid traffic congestion.
