The Edmonton Oilers and ATCO are gearing up to hit the road for the 13th annual Oilers Hockey Clinic presented by ATCO. This year’s clinic, focused on grassroots hockey development, will head back to Cold Lake, Alberta for the first time since 2016.

Held at the Cold Lake Energy Centre from May 26 to May 28, the Oilers Hockey Clinic presented by ATCO is free of charge for 100 lucky participants in the community and gives players aged 7 to 13 the opportunity to experience high-caliber training while further developing their hockey and life skills in a fun atmosphere.

Parents of local players aged 7 to 13 who are interested in participating, are invited to register by Friday, May 5 at 5:00 PM MT. A random lottery will follow to determine the lucky participants.

“The Edmonton Oilers are committed to the growth of the game and through our wonderful partnership with ATCO, we are excited to bring the Oilers Hockey Clinic back to Cold Lake,” said Stew McDonald, President and Chief Revenue Officer, OEG Sports and Entertainment. “This is a great opportunity for fans in the area to connect with our team, and it also provides a chance for our organization to give back as well. It has been seven years since we last visited Cold Lake and we look forward to bringing the Oilers experience back to the city.”

Kicking off the weekend, all Cold Lake and surrounding residents are invited to the ATCO Community Kick-Off BBQ Event, on Friday, May 26 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM MT at the Cold Lake Energy Centre. The ATCO Community Kick-Off BBQ Event is open to the public and gives the community a chance to enjoy complimentary food and activities, and interact with Oilers Alumni and the Orange and Blue Ice Crew for games and giveaways.

“ATCO is excited to bring the Oilers Hockey Clinic and community BBQ to the residents of Cold Lake,” said Corey Evans, Director of Marketing for ATCO. “This is an amazing opportunity to bring our partnership with the Edmonton Oilers to this community while helping to create a once in a lifetime hockey experience for local youth.”

Following Friday’s community festivities on May 26, the Oilers Hockey Clinic will follow on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28 featuring multiple daily on-ice sessions, dryland training, concussion management sessions, physiotherapy clinics and yoga to help further the development of each participant. Edmonton Oilers and Oil Kings Alumni will be on site as lead instructors to ensure the students have a great learning experience in a fun environment.
