Canadian Natural make $2000 donation to the Bonnyville Minor Hockey Association
Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) donates $2000 to Bonnyville Minor Hockey.
CNRL and Imperial Oil Resources invited their employees and their families together for some hockey fun on March. 4 at the Energy Centre.
“It was a lot of fun, especially since we won 9-5, it was just some guys that we got together and wanted to have some fun,” said Drew Switzer, CNRL.
Both men and women were able to participate in the charity game where depending on who won their winnings would go to a Minor Hockey Association.
“We were just getting sponsors behind the scenes and then in the lounge after the game all proceeds from the bar went to minor hockey as well,” said Switzer.
CNRL defeated Imperial 9-5 and donated their winnings to the Bonnyville Minor Hockey Association.
A puck toss was put on for a chance to win a pair of Edmonton Oilers tickets and on top of that an award for the craziest fan.
“We got to the rink and they had water bottles and helmet stickers for us, we got coaches on the bench and won a makeshift stanley cup. After the game we had a party at the energy centre” said Noah Dechaine, player for CNRL.
“Next year they are hoping to expand to a weekend styled tournament with four teams instead of just two.”
