St. Paul RCMP seize several replica firearms and other weapons; man arrested

A St. Paul resident has been arrested and charged with a series of weapons offences after police executed a search warrant.

On Sunday, Feb. 26, St. Paul RCMP along with the Alberta RCMP Traffic – St. Paul Unit, searched an apartment within the town after achieving a search warrant. 

This stemmed from an investigation into weapons offences.

RCMP seized six replica firearms, one prohibited weapon, ammunition, and several other weapons, police said. 

Conrad Whiskeyjack, 41, resident of St. Paul, has been charged with:

  • forcible confinement
  • pointing a firearm
  • assault
  • careless use of a firearm (x 2)
  • being unlawfully in a dwelling house
  • using a firearm in the commission of an offence
  • weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization (x2)
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon
  • possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon when knowing possession is unauthorized

“The St. Paul RCMP would like to thank the general public for coming forward and reporting this information to police,” said Cpl. Stephen Cunningham, Watch Supervisor, in a press release. 

“This investigation and arrest demonstrates the expertise and abilities of our front-line officers. Our officers remain committed to apprehending criminals in an attempt to crack down on criminal activity within our community”.

Whiskeyjack was held for a judicial hearing where he was remanded into custody. He is set to appear in court on Mar. 2, 2023.
